Disaster assistance available for businesses
The Queensland Rural and Industry Development Authority (QRIDA) is offering three types of funding for business impacted by the South East Queensland rainfall and flooding event from 22 February to 7 March 2022.
Grants of up to $50,000 are available for small business and non-profit organisations, or $75,000 for primary producers to hire or purchase equipment and materials, clean up, remove debris, replace or repair damaged infrastructure and stock and other costs associated with the recovery process.

If you are insured, full details and a copy of your insurance policy and/or claim must be provided. QRIDA may be unable to finalise your Disaster Assistance Grant application until the outcome of your insurance claim is determined and claim outcome is provided.

Disaster Assistance (Essential Working Capital) Loan
Concessional loans of up to $100,000 with loan terms of up to 10 years are available to assist small businesses, non-profit organisations, or primary producers with essential working capital for expenses such as paying salaries or wages, creditors, rent or rates, or buying goods, fodder or water.
Up to two years interest only payments may be available, and there are no establishment fees or account maintenance fees, but the loan must be secured by a mortgage of land and other assets satisfactory to QRIDA.

To be eligible for assistance, your business, organisation or enterprise must be located in one of the defined disaster areas.

Disaster Assistance Loan
Disaster Assistance Loans of up to $250,000 with loan terms of up to 10 years are available to assist small businesses, non-profit organisations, or primary producers with re-establishing normal operations by covering costs such as repairing or replacing damaged plant and equipment, repairing or replacing buildings, supplying stock for up to one month, and meeting carry-on requirements including sustenance, rent and rates.
Up to two years interest only payments may be available, and there are no establishment fees or account maintenance fees, but the loan must be secured by a mortgage of land and other assets satisfactory to QRIDA.
