The ATO have moved to the second phase of the Single Touch Payroll Regime (STP Phase 2). Phase 2 is an expansion to capture more information, in an attempt to reduce the burden for reporting across multiple government agencies.
The official start for STP Phase 2 reporting was 1 January 2022.
Most Digital Service Providers (including payroll software providers such as Xero and MYOB) have been granted a deferral until 31 December 2022. If you currently use another Digital Service Provider (DSP), please ensure that you are familiar with their progress with STP Phase 2).
In the meantime, please continue to report in accordance with your normal STP requirements. Your payroll provider will release further information on any action you are required to take.
Please feel free to get in touch with your Client Advisor if you have any questions or are unsure of how this applies to you.
